Two Month Check Up

Karina had her two month doctor's appointment today. She had to get five vaccinations in three shots. She cried really hard for literally only few seconds and then within a few minutes, fell asleep in my arms! What a trouper!

She weighed in at 13 lbs 9 oz and measured 23.5 inches long!

One Month Lab Draw

Karina had to go in to the doctor's office today to get what will hopefully be her last blood draw for a long time. The first lab draw (2/8/06) was done by this evil lady lab tech who unfortunately was there again and was again unbelievably cold and uncaring. I tried to position Karina so she could get at her foot to draw the blood, but the evil troll lady grabbed her leg and twisted it so she could get "good" access and Karina started crying. The evil lab troll said,"Huh... she's already crying and I haven't even poked her yet!" Shouldn't that have told her something!....(like she's Troll or...) like maybe she could be a little more gentle with tiny babies! I wanted to punch her!! Grandpa Jim was kind enough to come along with us again and was invaluably helpful with everything from carrying Karina's car seat, acting as chauffer and keeping me from hitting the troll lady!

Even with the mean lady twisting her leg, poking her foot and then taking an unbelievably long time to squeeze out the blood, Karina did just great and hardly cried at all. We took her upstairs to Tom's office, showed her off and everyone just loved her!
